Mariah Carey wants me to write your newsletter


Hey Reader,

Last Saturday, while pondering what to write for my own newsletter, a thought hit me, smack in the middle of my kitchen, as they do:

Most of you don’t actually hate email. You hate thinking about email.
(... or confidently ignore it on your business wish list.)

I can understand why:

First, there's the strategy gap
> Then the blank page triggers “what the hell do I write?
> and screaming through your blinking cursor, the “I shoulds” start compounding like interest you never agreed to, until guilt turns into inconsistency and voilà... there lies another abandoned newsletter email, perpetually drafted.

It's the end of 2025 already. That “I promise, I’ll do it next week” becomes 2026's slated project.

And honestly? This time of year is subtly deceptive. We think new year, new me. New year, new business habits. Which I love, please don't get me wrong.

But reality says:

If you haven't found the time to start your newsletter in the last 365 days, the likelihood is you're not going to find the time at the crack of dawn, Jan. 1st.

Because a newsletter isn't about motivation. And it's definitely not because you don’t care. You do. That's exactly why you didn't launch it.

The truth is that your brain is full, your bandwidth this time of year is fried. Your brain is practically eggnog held together with Scotch tape, and by mid-December, the hauntings of Mariah Carey are ricocheting through everyone's skull. No wonder trying to force yourself to “just write something” leads to a bad time.
