Following up on Friday's email

Hey,

If you didn't read Friday's email yet, go do that. Especially if you don't run a newsletter and want to... or you do want to but "can't right now" (yes, I typed that in long, dramatic syllables).

And if you did read it, and fall into either of those two camps, this little PSA if for you.

Because you probably had one of three reactions:

  1. Ugh, I need this, and I want it but...
    money. Holidays. The economy.
  2. Ugh, I need this and I just can't because...*Insert reason here. Any reason.
  3. Don't need it, I'm a newsletter savant, slaying sales email by email. đź’…

Cool. Let's talk about 1 & 2.

Not to fight you, to name what's actually happening here.

Because both reactions mean the same thing:

  • You recognize you need it.
  • You want it.
  • You see the value.
  • And then your brain hands you a Very Important Reason to freeze.

That's... so human of you. <3 And predictable.

Now read this twice:

It's also the exact reason your newsletter still isn't happening.

It's the same reason last year's resolutions aren't frame on a wall somewhere.

It's the same reason you're either nodding right now or calling me an ass (hopefully with a softly begrudging smile).

Not because you don't care, but because you're overwhelmed, and maybe a little sinky, drowning in priorities, balance, and "being a reasonable person".

Tired, overwhelmed, soggy brains grab onto "reasons" like life rafts.

Reasons ALWAYS beat action. Always.
Unless you kill the reason with an action.

That's literally what this offer does.

If the thing you need to take action on is your newsletter, the Takeover solves it.
One month. Four emails. Momentum you can still cash in by Q2 (if you take action yourself).

One stupidly low price. Payment plans. Four spots.
You know the drill, you reread the email.

Canadians, email me first. I'm not making you eat the exchange either. I hear you over there grumbling at USD pricing. Me too.

Yup. See ya,
Mel

P.S. Maybe you're just head-dowm in holiday overwhelm, packaging tape stuck to your sweater (it's there, it's always there), glitter and determination the only things holding you together... If that's the case, carry on and come back when you resurface, just know that once the spots are filled, that's it.

Hey Reader, Last Saturday, while pondering what to write for my own newsletter, a thought hit me, smack in the middle of my kitchen, as they do: “Most of you don’t actually hate email. You hate thinking about email.” (... or confidently ignore it on your business wish list.) I can understand why: First, there's the strategy gap> Then the blank page triggers “what the hell do I write?” > and screaming through your blinking cursor, the “I shoulds” start compounding like interest you never...

Hey Reader... TL;DR - Hey, what's up? Here's how I can help you. You already know this isn't a 1:1 email, so I won't pretend that it is. I know a lot of people do that as a trick to write email blasts that feel personal, but here's the thing: You're not dumb. I can still write something for you, with you knowing this is going out to hundreds of people and still have it land. And here's why this should matter to you: I'm about to make your choice super easy. The choices are this: stay or go....
